Alan Arnold
Alan Arnold has been painting for close to 20 years since he dropped out of the mainstream (he was a builder by trade) and started donating his time to working with troubled kids at a unique school in the Berkshires.
This school used art and theatre as part of the therapy for helping these teenagers. He was inspired by these kids who had trouble "fitting in" in a world in which they did not feel accepted.
He found many similarities between himself and these teenagers who felt alienated from the rest of the world. He worked with them to help them recognize their gifts, realize they were gifted, not crazy. It was a struggle to present their art and risk being accepted.
The school has since closed but Alan has continued to paint, however he has not taken the risk of trying to show his work; until now.
